Do you backup your bookmarks?

Hopefully you are in the habit of regularly backing up your digital supplies and layouts. I know I have my supplies backed up on three different hard drives plus DVD's as well. But do you back up the links to your favourite scrapbooking sites? I had not really thought about doing this before until a good friend of mine had the situation we all dread, when her laptop crashed with the information never to be seen again. My friend is very organised and only lost the one layout she had been working on, thank goodness. It was a couple of weeks later, after she had loaded all of her software and digital files back on her new laptop that she remarked to me about how annoyed she was with herself for not backing up the scrapbooking links she had accumulated. In losing her bookmarks she now had to build up her list again by visiting each store and blog that she could remember off the top of her head, others she had to google to find, and some others are probably lost forever.

It was this conversation that actually sparked the idea for My Scrap List. I had instantly thought ugghhh, imagine having to find that file deep in the program files somewhere and remembering to back it up along with the rest. I don't think that I would actually remember to do that. Wouldn't it be much easier to just click on a link and have the site added to my very own online bookmarking account and then not have to worry about it? With the added bonus that I can then also access my favourite sites from my laptop as well as my PC, or even when I am staying over at my Mother's house.

I know that there a plenty of other sites around that offer this service but I like the fact that with My Scrap List, because it serves just the scrapbooking niche, I can also share my favourites with others (like yourself) that share the same interests as me. Also when you use the service, I can discover new scrapbook related sites and blogs as well. It's a win-win-win situation.

So do yourself a favour, before you lose all of your links and click onto My Scrap List, register for your free account and start adding your favourite sites to it. While you are there, explore a little and see what others have been bookmarking.
